Printing Workshop at World City

I had a great day printing with people who attended the Music Center's World City concert in downtown LA at the Walt Disney Concert Hall!  We printed stamp and stencil images on red kerchiefs for Western style bandanas.  Daughters of the Purple Sage and Wylie and the Wild West provided the free music and we provided a DIY print workshop for all ages.

I spent some of the day on Friday cleaning up a couple of book presses.  Need to get some new rollers and then they will be ready to go for future letter press and relief workshops.  Stay tuned!

CCMA Monotype Talk and Demonstration

I had a great time speaking to and with Chaffey Community Museum of Art members Thursday evening.  We even had time to create a few monotype prints.  Thank you Nancy DeDiemar and Jenelle Lowry for the invitation to speak and demonstrate printmaking techniques.  Press Works hopes to establish a working relationship with CCMA and its members to keep fine art printmaking alive and well in the Inland Empire.  Thanks for documenting the talk Patrick.  The photos look great...and thanks for all the people who came out.  I had a wonderful time speaking with you all and answering questions about printmaking in general and what we do at Press Works and TAS Studio.

Monotype Demo at Chaffey CommunityArt Museum

Join PRESS WORKS at Chaffey Community Museum of Art (CCMA) in Ontario on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm as artist and CCMA member Todd Smith demonstrates the technique of monotype printing, a single impression of an image made from a plastic or metal plate.  The event is free for CCMA members and $20 for guests.
